CHILL OUT! Guilt-Free Summer Treat Recipes

Cool off this summer with icy treats that aren’t packed with calories. Here are three crazy-good concoctions, courtesy of HG.

HG’s Tropical Treat Sorbet
(entire recipe: approx. 115 calories, <0.5g fat, 3mg sodium, 28g carbs, 3g fiber, 24g sugars, 0.75g protein)

So simple…so cool…soooo delicious!

2 servings Crystal Light Sunrise Classic Orange drink mix (1 On The Go packet or 1/4 of an 8-serving tub)
1 cup mango chunks (fresh or frozen)

Dissolve Crystal Light into a just FOUR ounces (a half-cup) of cold water; stir well. If using frozen mango, run under cool water for several minutes to thaw, so it blends more easily. In a blender, puree mango and Crystal Light mixture until just blended. Pour into a dish, cover, and place in freezer until nearly solid (several hours). If freezing overnight, thaw slightly by microwaving for 40 seconds or allowing it to sit out for about 10 minutes before enjoying.

Citrus Berry Super-Slushie
(entire recipe: approx. 60 calories, <0.5g fat, 35mg sodium, 10g carbs, 2g fiber, 12g sugars, 1g protein)

You’re just 2 ingredients and a few ice cubes away from enjoying a gigantic low-cal slushie!

1 serving Crystal Light Lemonade drink mix (either 1/8th of a tub or 1/2 of an On The Go packet)
2/3 cup frozen mixed berries
2/3 cup crushed ice

Dissolve Crystal Light into 8 oz. of cold water. Combine with ice and berries in a blender and process until well mixed but still icy. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy! Makes 1 super-sized slushie.

Hungry Girl’s 100-Calorie Pina Colada Freeze!
(entire recipe: approx. 100 calories, 2g fat, 25mg sodium, 11g carbs, 2g fiber, 4g sugars, 2g protein)

This frozen cocktail can be enjoyed with or without alcohol as a tasty cool-down treat!

1.5 oz. Bacardi Island Breeze Coconut rum
1/2 tsp. coconut (or imitation coconut) extract
1/4 cup Breyer’s Double Churned No Sugar Added Vanilla Ice Cream
1 tbsp. crushed pineapple in its own juice
3/4 cup crushed ice
1 packet no-calorie sweetener

Stir to combine coconut extract and sweetener in 1.5 ounces of water. Put all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high speed for 30 seconds. Pour into a glass and enjoy. Then share this recipe with everyone you know!

Don’t drink alcohol? Can’t drink alcohol? Try swapping the rum with an ounce of water and adding another 1/2 tsp. of coconut extract, and you’ll get a virgin version with only about 50 calories!
