LOS ANGELES - “Star Trek” fans will have to wait a bit longer to see where the crew of the starship Enterprise is boldly going next.

The release of J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek,” with a new cast taking on the roles of Capt. James Kirk, Spock and other original characters, has been moved from Christmas Day to May 8, 2009, distributor Paramount said Thursday.

Studio spokesman Michael Vollman said the switch was a business move, not because of any problems with the film caused by the Writers Guild of America strike that just ended.

Christian Bale is in negotiations to star in “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins,” the fourth installment of the hit science fiction series.

McG (”Charlie’s Angels,” “We Are Marshall“) is directing the movie, which will be distributed by Warner Bros.

The series, which originated with filmmaker James Cameron and made Arnold Schwarzenegger a star, centered on a robot from the future, when machines wage war against humanity, whose goal was to kill Sarah Connor, the mother of the future leader of the human resistance. As the movies progressed, the son, played by Edward Furlong in “T2″ and Nick Stahl in “T3,” took a more prominent role.

My question here is what does this mean for the Batman Franchise ?

This should be an interesting kick ass movie starring Angelian Jolie and Morgan Freeman, though most of my comic book friends say it as deviated heavily from the comics.

iesb.netis reporting that this is a concept art of the monster in the upcoming J.J Abrams flick 1-18-08/Cloverfield. Though they warn that it could be a fake fan made image. None the less and interesting  concept.

ComingSoon.net/SuperheroHype.com has learned that Paramount Pictures will rerelease the summer blockbuster in IMAX theaters on September 21 with more footage than you saw in the conventional theatrical version.  Now I can watch this flick 20 more times. i can’t wait for sept 21. GO PRime.
