T-Mobile Quadruples Simple Starter Data With New Option: at $45 a month

simple-starter[ad#ad-1]Today, T-Mobile (NYSE: TMUS) again set a new bar for Americans looking for better value in wireless.  The Un-carrier announced a new option for Simple Starter customers to quadruple their data to a full 2 GB of LTE data, for just $5 per month.

Back in May, the Un-carrier made waves with the Simple Starter plan, an entry-level solution with unlimited talk and text, and 500 MB of LTE data for just $40.  Starting September 3, these customers can get a whopping 2 GB of LTE data for only $5 extra per month – and still no annual service contract and no domestic overages.

By comparison, other entry-level plans come with data overages that penalize customers for using more data.

“People who use loads of data use T-Mobile,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile. “And it’s no wonder. The old guard telecoms punish people for using more data on their networks with crazy overage charges and fees. Get Verizon’s $50 plan and use just one gig more data, and the price jumps to $65. It’s crazy. At T-Mobile, we designed our network data-strong so our customers could use the hell out of it.  And that’s just what they’re doing.”

Over the past year alone, the average American’s mobile data use has surged, and with America’s fastest nationwide LTE network, the Un-carrier is in a unique position to satisfy the growing demand for fast mobile data. T-Mobile has more network capacity per customer−and a remarkable 70 percent more network spectrum per customer than even Verizon−with its network concentrated in the places people need data the most.

Not only is T-Mobile’s nationwide 4G LTE network America’s fastest, but it’s advancing even faster still.  Case in point:

  • Since last year, the Un-carrier has expanded LTE coverage from zero to 233 million Americans.
  • Earlier this year, T-Mobile was the first to roll out Voice over LTE nationwide for crystal-clear calling and faster call setup times−while most customers of the old-guard carriers will continue to wait for VoLTE in their area.
  • T-Mobile’s also been expanding its network capacity at an unmatched pace−rolling out its newly acquired 700Mhz spectrum, converting 2G to 4g coverage and rolling out its Wideband LTE with speeds of up to 110Mpbs−faster than your home broadband.
