Pitch Perfect 2 Leads domestic Box-office with $70 million as Avengers Holds strong Internationally

Disney/Marvel’s summer mega-hit ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ got off to a phenomenal start in China, grossing a truly staggering $156.3 million in 6 days since its Tuesday debut.  Along with the solid performance in other international territories and North America, the total estimated gross for Avengers: Age of Ultron now stands at $1.143 billion, which catapults it to now stand as the 8th highest grossing film of all-time.  Warner Bros.’ ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ blasted into cinemas in 68 international markets, grossing a solid $65 million and bringing its global total to $109.4 million while Universal’s ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ had a solid international weekend earning $26.9 million in 29 markets for an early total of $38.1 million and a worldwide total of $108.4 million.”
