Essential Phone Powered by Snapdragon 835

[ad#co-1]

Qualcomm Incorporated through its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., today announced that the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 Mobile Platform will power the inaugural premium flagship smartphone from Essential Products, the Essential Phone. The Snapdragon 835 is the first commercial SoC manufactured using 10nm FinFET technology, reducing its package size by up to 35 percent and power usage by up to 25 percent compared to the previous generation flagship processor, allowing more space to house the large 3040mAh battery and significantly improved battery life. The SoC also features the latest generation of Qualcomm® Adreno™ 540 GPU, which delivers up to 25 percent faster graphics rendering compared to Adreno 530, and allows users to enjoy a 360-degree immersive visual capture experience.

The Essential Phone incorporates Qualcomm® Clear Sight™ imaging technology, which is designed to mimic the attributes of the human eye and give your photos better dynamic range and sharpness while reducing low light noise. The Essential Phone utilizes two 13MP rear cameras, each with a different image sensor: one color image sensor and a separate black and white sensor, which allows it to produce images with optimal contrast and brightness.

The Snapdragon X16 LTE modem in the Snapdragon 835 gives Essential Mata the engine for fast upload and download speeds over 4G LTE, and superior signal quality with Qualcomm® TruSignal™ dual-antenna technology for extended coverage.

“We are thrilled to begin a new relationship with Essential, which will help deliver some of the most advanced mobile experiences available today, including lightning fast connectivity, an innovative new imaging technology, and truly immersive experiences,” said Alex Katouzian, senior vice president and general manager, mobile, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “Additionally, through our Qualcomm® improveTouch™ technology, we worked together to overcome many technical challenges that came with Essential’s unique high resolution free-form bezel-less display.”

“We believe that premium materials and true craftsmanship shouldn’t be just for the few. With the help of Qualcomm’s advanced mobile technology inventions, we are able to create a smartphone in which the premium performance on the inside matches the durable and aesthetic look and feel of the outside,” said Joe Tate, vice president, hardware, Essential. “To go along with the titanium bezel, ceramic back and Gorilla Glass 5, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform provides users with the perfect blend of power, battery life and advanced features they come to expect in an innovative, flagship device.”

The Essential Phone also comes with a miniature 27W USB power delivery adaptor, providing users with incredibly fast recharge times without making compromises to battery safety.
