Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 LTE for Verizon Review

20120301_135858[ad#ad-1]TThe new tablet comes with a 7.7 inch Super AMOLED HD display, 1.4 GHz dual-core processor,16 GB of storage, 3.0 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash, and a 720p HD video capture, front facing 2.0 megapixel camera for video chat. It ships with  , but will be upgradable to Android 4.0 ICS in the future. What makes this tablet different from the many versions of tabs in the Samsung Android Tablet line its size and build.  At 7.7′, this is a more user-friendly tablet with slightly more real estate that the 7′ Galaxy tab which is a huge plus. Its design and build are lighter and sturdier with a brushed aluminum finish that speaks to its high quality aesthetics. Samsung also has a very cool accessory for the Tab 7.7 LTE that you will see featured  in the review video.  It fits the table tin portrait mode, has a HDMI out port, line-out speaker port and power connector, giving you the ability touse your tablet in a docked position by your bed, desk or connected to your HDTV set.

Peel Smart remote Software

It comes pre-installed with the Galaxy Tab 7.7 LTE.  This works to control your TV and other home entertainment devices with the aid of the IR sensor. This gives you the power to take control of any of your home electronics that uses an IR remote (i.e DVD, Blu-ray, AV receiver, TV, Cablebox). The set-up process is relatively easy; just follow the instructions. The Smart remote app gives you a view of what is playing on your TV at that point in time, allowing you to control and jump into the show of your choice. You can add shows to your favorites listing and share what you are watching to friends on Facebook & Twitter. You can also search for shows by genre and time slot. In all, it is a very fun and effective tool. Here is video to how the software works and its initial setup  HERE

Conclusion

The  on Verizon is a great companion piece device.  For a tablet, the 7.7 “ size works well. Giving you enough viewing area to watch and browse effectively, 4G LTE speeds on these are fantastic.  The ability to tether your devices also is a great plus.  You also have the peel remote app that adds extra functionality using the IR sensor.  The price at $499 is my main issue.  There really is no value proposition considering you are also getting a data plan with the tablet. If this was priced right, at say $200 or $250, I think it would be a big hit.
