Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Processor 4K & mobile audio height enabled by Dolby- demo

DSC_4798[ad#ad-1]At the CES 2014, Qualcomm Technologies will use its Snapdragon™ Theatre to demonstrate the ultimate mobile audio-visual experience on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor: 4K Ultra HD with Hollywood Quality Video® (HQV®) video processing, along with mobile audio height enabled by Dolby.

The Snapdragon 805 processor enables a new version of Dolby® audio technology that’s more engaging and enveloping than typical virtual surround sound. With this new technology, you’ll be able to really hear the monsters clattering over the roof in a movie thriller or the spaceships zooming overhead in a space action game.

Of course, new audio technology isn’t useful if there’s no content that takes advantage of it. Dolby has been developing tools that will help filmmakers and game developers tell their stories in new ways that take full advantage of audio height.

Plus, you’ll still get all the benefits of current Dolby Digital Plus™ technologies, running in low-power on the Snapdragon 805’s Hexagon™  DSP including:

  • Enhancements that make it easy to understand every word of the dialogue, even amidst the explosions of an action film
  • Custom equalizer settings to allow you to dial in the sound you prefer
  • The ability to easily play music or video from your mobile device on your home theater

Device manufacturers will be able to incorporate the new Dolby audio experience into their smartphones and tablets in 2014 using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor.
