Lenovo Miix 2 Tablet Review

Lenovo Miix 2_7[ad#ad-1]Lenovo has done it again with their latest 8” tablet, the Miix 2. This tablet boasts a quad core Atom processor and 2GB of LPDDR3 ram, giving it very snappy response times.

This tablet is for the folks who need the mobility and convenience of a light weight, compact tablet, but also the business capabilities of a tablet with the full version of Windows 8.1 Professional, and MS Office Home and Student.

This device is the perfect combination of work and play, capable of the tasks you need for work with excellent performance, and providing excellent 7 hour run-time battery life and high definition 1280 x 800 graphics with IPS technology for games and video.

The forward facing 2MP camera is great for video chatting, and the rear facing 5MP camera takes decent pictures and video, although it is lacking a flash. The 32GB model is available for $300, with the 64GB model for only a little more at $350. The speakers leave a little to be desired, but they get the job done. You’re more than likely to be using earbuds if you’re going to use this for sound anyway. There are no USB ports, as the thing is so thin, but it comes standard with Bluetooth if you are looking to connect a keyboard or mouse.

My favorite uses for this device were watching movies and reading Ebooks while on a plane, and I love having it on hand next to the couch for quick look up of actors in shows I’m watching, or tips for when I’m stuck in games I’m playing. Liesurely browsing around on Facebook is very nice on this device with the Facebook at, which I is NOT available on my Surface, due to the RT operating system.

If you’re looking for a great portal tablet with the full capabilities of Windows 8.1 professional, this product does not disappoint, and at $300 – $350 (depending on the amount of storage space) the Lenovo Miix 2 8 will not break the bank.
