HTC EVO 4G LTE Review- The EVO has grown-up

IMG_3980[ad#ad-1]Simply put the HTC EVO 4G LTE is the best android 4.0 device currently on Sprint’s NOW network. Not only is the device aesthetically pleasing, the thoughtful integration of hardware and software highlight HTC attention to detail and customer satisfaction. The first thing you notice about this device is its amazing screen. The 4.7inch High Definition IPS display will draw compliments from everyone, for its vibrant representation of colors. The screen real-estate also makes it ideal for watching short clips (I’m not a fan of watching whole movies) on this device, or reviewing photos.

About those photos, with an 8MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front facing camera, this device pack enough power to replace your point and shoot camera of choice. The pictures are sharp, and colors are represented accurately, even in low light situations. The dedicated camera button also provides the feel of an actual point and shoot.
On another note about the camera, the lens of the rear camera protrudes slightly from the back of the screen, while this has been a point of discussion on several online forums, this design choice does not take away from the overall look and feel of this device.

One perceived drawback to this device is the lack of a quad-core processor, something which you would find across many next generation Android devices. This device has opted for a dual-core 1.5 GHz integrated LTE chipset, the Qualcomm snap dragon. Although the choice of processors limits the number of cores currently on the device it pays back in efficiency and battery use.

About the battery, the most notable departure from the original EVO 4G design, is the lack of a replaceable battery. HTC has elected to make the 2000mAh battery on this device unswappable. This choice might seem like a bad idea for a device with an open operating system, you might even say it reeks a little too much of apples close system mentality, however, the fact is that a single charge of this 2000mAh battery should take you through a full day of low to mid usage.
Overall the HTC EVO 4G LTE is a must have for anyone looking for an upgrade within the Sprint Network. Its design and features put in on par with any other next generation device out there. HTC has a hit on its hands.
