GDC 2010 Sony officially announced the PlayStation Move , a motion controller package that brings Sony and the PS3 into the Motion controller race to arms.

The 3rd Largest cable company in the US, is planning to launch its own wireless carrier. Cox Wireless. You Said what!!. I know. But seriously this is good news( More competition, better for all of us)

The nation’s third largest cable company is testing an Android phone from Kyocera for its upcoming LTE wireless network. The company currently piggybacks their wireless service on Sprint’s 3G CDMA/EVDO network, but they previously purchased half a billion worth of AWS spectrum for LTE. In fact, Cox just completed LTE trials in Phoenix and San Diego where they reached peak speeds in the 25 Mbps range.

“Worked on a quick short-term sub-sub-sub contract where I wrote an app for Android, to be run at a trade show. The hardware I installed on was a Kyocera, but even more interesting was the Cox logo on it. The logos were taped over but quite legible from the bumps nonetheless. There were also some Cox apps included; I think one was either for watching TV or controlling DVR? Not entirely sure. The screen was WVGA800, very nice and sharp, though the hardware wasn’t the fastest. Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to photograph or examine it too closely since I only had about an hour to load and debug.”

Wow, hold on a sec, I thought Moto  and Google where tight.  first the Backflip loses Google on AT&T and now in China it is using Bing for all search functionality. What is going on here?

Good Lord, I guess its best not to complain about loud talking and cellphones during a movie

A dispute at a Lancaster movie theater during a screening of “Shutter Island” ended when a man, who had complained about someone nearby talking on a cellphone, was stabbed in the neck with a meat thermometer.

The incident occurred two weeks ago at the Cinemark 22 theater in Lancaster, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The theater was packed for a 9 p.m. Saturday screening of the Martin Scorsese horror movie when the victim complained about a woman near him who was using a cellphone during the show. She and two men with her left the movie theater. Two men returned a few minutes later and stabbed the victim, said sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore.

“It was vicious and cowardly attack,” Whitmore said.

So Sony has finally entered the motion wars with Nintendo. ( I am sure under $100 means $99.99 MSRP). Seriously , is it called PlayStation Move.

GDC 2010

ony just officially announced the PlayStation Move motion controller at GDC 2010, calling it the “next generation of motion gaming” because it’s so precise — latency is about the same as the DualShock 3. As expected, it uses the PlayStation Eye camera to track the controller, and Sony says it becomes an “extension of your body.” The plan is not only to engage casual gamers, but to use the precision of the controller to create “new experiences for core gamers” — many of the demo videos we saw involved using a controller video in each hand, and there were quote a few demos of action / RPG games. We also saw a demo of Move Party, which uses the camera to do augmented reality gaming and video chat. The demos are pretty impressive — Sony’s not kidding when it says the Move is incredibly precise.

So the fight is on to topple Nintendo and the Wii with motion controlled games. I wish Sony Well, But entering a year were the Wii will hit $150 probably by Christmas and a PS3 with motion controls will still $399. Its going to be tough, let see how Microsoft will make its mark with Natal and if Nintendo will make improvements with motion plus

Breast milk cheese, anyone? A Manhattan chef has posted a recipe on his blog for what he calls “My spouse’s mommy milk cheese.” Daniel Angerer co-owns Klee Brasserie with his wife Lori Mason. A photo on his blog features the cheese encrusted with maple caramelized pumpkin and Concord grapes. They had an overabundance of milk for their newborn, Arabella Caroline. When their small freezer ran out of space, Angerer decided to experiment.

Angerer said his cooking instincts tend toward things natural. But even he admits: “THIS is a whole other level of ‘natural.’”
