Eve-Tech’s crowd-designed “Pyramid Flipper” project, now known as the Eve V Windows 10 convertible PC is on sale with debut model prices ranging between $699 for one with an 7th generation Intel Core m3 processor inside and $1,399 for one with a tablet-grade Core i7 inside.
The 2-in-1 is one of the first to come with the Kaby Lake series of processors
Ports:
USB A became mandatory Community was very vocal about this. I just decided to have two of them.
Community also wanted to have Thunderbolt 3, this was very clear.
In addition to that they wanted a normal USB-C just to futureproof the device.
Connectivity:
Originally the spec included only AC wifi
Eve.Community wanted to have rather Intel Wifi, than other manufacturers.
Speed & reliability were key factors so the latest available Intel 2×2 MU-MIMO module was chosen
Battery life:
Battery won constantly over slimness and other factors. No matter what we were to do, we were not to compromise the battery life.
Windows Hello:
This was a mandatory requirement, but the community was not strict on how exactly it needed to be implemented.
SD card reader
was again deemed mandatory.
Cameras:
we were aiming at having the best cameras, but the community told us clearly not to spend too much money on the cameras.
“we all have better cameras in our smart phones anyway” was heard loud and clear. So we ended up putting just standard cameras.
Stylus & Display
I wanted to have stylus, but Konstantinos and some other members did not. The solution was naturally to ask the community
and at the time results were that 88% would not buy the device if it did not support stylus. Being presented 2 options of either a
1440p display with EMR (that also would have been more expensive) or the current display with N-Trig, the N-trig solution
With better display won easily.
