Now this looks super promising, the Galaxy Tab is a 7 inch Samsung Android Tablet, with the same design orientation as the Samsung Galaxy S.  Its got an AMOLED screen at high resolution, running Android with touchwiz on top and has a Samsung Market place( for tablet optimized apps)

Indeed, Lanci showed off a 7-inch tablet running Android. We weren’t given much more information than that other than he said it had color screen (which we could also see obviously) and would arrive in Q4. Price was not yet determined and in talking about how they would go to market with it, he said they had not decided between traditional channels or operators. He said that operators were an “obvious” option, hinting at the tablet having a 3G connection, something he didn’t confirm.

Yes we have been waiting to se what Acer would bring to the Tablet game. Considering how successful netbook were for the company. Can’t wait to see what the have in time for Christmas

it’s just unveiled this so-called “SketchBook” at an event in Amsterdam. Offering a new twist on the convertible laptop, this one doesn’t actually convert into a tablet, but rather features a rotating base that has a keyboard on one side and a full-size graphics tablet on the other — hence the name. Unfortunately, MSI is staying mum on any other details at the moment — let alone pricing or availability — but our counterparts at Engadget Spanish did get a chance to check out an early, non-functioning prototype of the device.

The Verizon Android love train continues, as word from Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdams

“customers should expect that the first tablets will be Android devices from contenders including Motorola, Samsung and LG. These Android tablets will go head to head with Apple’s iPad and Verizon expects to sell many of these gadgets in the forth quarter.”

These devices should be directly competing with the iPad coming Christmas season, and I would be surprised to see a bundle package with home services. The proposed Android tablet s should at least be running Android 2.2 (Froyo) with a Tegra processor or even an intel based processor. it should also go well with Verizon’s 4G network come the end of the year.

Yes, the BlackBerry tablet will not have any cellular networking built in, and will rely on either a Bluetooth connection to your BlackBerry or the built-in Wi-Fi radio. Additionally, we are hearing that the launch of the tablet is slated for December, but the team working on the project is trying to get it out to the marketplace sooner than that. Lastly, the focus of the device is said to be multimedia — think e-books, emailing, web browsing, photo viewing

I really hope they make some more changes to the device, than what BGR is reporting. But time will tell.

Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam just confirmed that his company is working on tablets with Google in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. Unfortunately, that’s all we’ve got to work with at the moment — McAdam said tablets are “part of the ‘next big wave of opportunities,’ but didn’t say what OS the Google devices would run, just that Verizon’s “looking at all the things Google has in its archives that we could put on a tablet to make it a great experience.” That sounds like something Google’s been working on for a while, so we’ll take a guess and say it’s Android-based, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see a Chrome OS tablet or netbook make the scene at some point in the future.

The more Verizon partners with Google on Phones and tablet. the less like it seems any Apple device will be on Verizon platform and with the news of android bating iPhone in Q1.  Gives Verizon more confidence to that aspect.

Japan Today is reporting that Google has managed to secure more than 25,000 authors and publishers to participate in the service at launch, which, if you are to include the existing Google Books library will give users access to over 4 million titles.

To put that in perspective the current number of titles available through iBooks has been reported as about 60,000, Amazon for Kindle is approximately 500,000 and Barnes and Noble boasts of over 1 million “ebooks, newspapers, and magazines.”

According to an unsubstantiated report over at the Examiner, an “insider at HP” has informed the site that “a webOS tablet under the code name HP Hurricane could be released the third quarter of this year.” This all lines up well with what we’ve heard over the past few weeks: HP pledged to take webOS to places it has never been, strong whispers emerged that the HP Slate was being shelved, and now, people close to the HP camp have given a name to a purported webOS tablet slated for Q3. There’s obviously no telling if this is simply hot air being blown, but we wouldn’t be shocked to see HP nail down a webOS slate in time for the sure-to-be-rockin’ 2010 holiday buying season

Interesting and I can see this doing well if HP puts some serious marketing behind it

Conclusion

The dash is a great device, which I must admit I found myself using constantly after doing the review. It is the evolution of the digital picture frame with purpose. Allowing the user to not only view picture from various sources on the web; with connectivity to video , movies, news and much more. The dash is a young device but i can see it going places, with different version and may even lend itself to portability in the future. But for now if you are looking for an internet capable devices to use around the home ( kitchen, bedroom etc), the dash is the device for you.

Apple today revealed that the release of the international version of their iPad product would be pushed back to the end of May. Apple earlier this week announced that they had sold almost 500,000 iPads during it’s first week on sale. Due to a surprising high demand for the iPad, Apple made the decision to postpone it’s international release to the end of May with no specific date given. Although we were left with a date of May 10th which will be when pricing will be revealed and pre-orders will begin online.
