“She is extremely excited right now,” a source close to the star tells Us. Richie, 25, shared the good news with her mom Brenda, and close friends like Mischa Barton, in early May, adds the Richie pal, after a pregnancy test came up positive. And the pregnancy isn’t the only cause for celebration. A source says Madden, 28, along with a few friends and his twin brother Benji, recently went shopping for an engagement ring. And the twins’ older brother Josh Madden tells Us, “Nicole is awesome. I would love for them to get married!” Both families are thrilled about the couple’s baby joy: “Everyone’s happy, everyone’s good, everyone’s getting along” a source tells Us. But Nicole can’t hide her bump forever. The Simple Life star is due in court on July 11 to answer DUI charges stemming from her December 2006 arrest. If found guilty, she faces 90 days to one year in jail because of a previous DUI conviction in 2003. What will happen if Nicole is sentenced to jail time? Is her weight a worry? June 15, 2007 — NICOLE Richie is being coy on the question of whether she’s pregnant, but a good pal of hers says she’s definitely carrying Joel Madden’s love spawn. “Nicole is kind of hoping her pregnancy will keep her out of jail,” the friend said. Richie is facing time due to a DWI arrest earlier this year. But friends are concerned and “wondering if she can carry the baby to term because of her weight issues,” we’re told. A rep for Richie didn’t return calls.

Nicole Richie went onto Ryan Seacrest’s radio show and defended her private email that is causing so much controversy. She claims it was a joke and doesn’t understand why everyone is getting so upset about it. I read that email twice and didn’t realize it rhymed until she said it! I understand where she is coming from. She was trying to be funny and somehow it made the news. On the other hand, I can see where people are taking offense. But in the end, it really wasn’t meant for our eyes anyway. “I mean, it rhymes. Are you really going to take an e-mail that rhymes that seriously? And it’s a private e-mail to my friends. I was joking and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.” Seems as though Miss Anorexia (in denial), sent around a party invite for Memorial day promising lots of alcohol and fun times. But she decided that adding her own little quirp at the end of it all was gonna be funny. so apparently we are all crazy and her little invite was one big joke, and if you read carefully it acutally RHYMES!…. um yeah..ok i definitely didn;t care enough to read that much into it … but here’s what she has to say.
