Yes, guys need compliments too you know, here are a few

“Your arms are definitely looking bigger.”

Men can be just as paranoid about the way their bodies look as women can be. In fact, nearly 90 percent of men in a national Men, Love & Sex survey say there’s at least one body part they’d like to change (42 percent saying they want a new gut). While men don’t necessarily want women to lie if they’re out of shape, it never hurts to notice he’s looking good — or at least trying to look better.

“Impressive.”

Guys love feats. They love accomplishments. They love being acknowledged for their strength, power, and, simply, their masculinity. So a well-timed observation like this one — whether it comes after he carries a TV to the family room or figures out a way to fix the pipes without having to call the plumber — feeds into his need to feel like the family protector. If you long for that great East German hospitality of years ago. Now you can relive and enjoy that experience with a hotel offering the “East German” experience…

The Berlin Wall may be long gone but communist East Germany lives on in the form of lovingly maintained Trabant cars and now an old-fashioned hotel. “Ostel” takes its guests back to some time before 1989 - an era of ugly brown and orange wallpaper, spartan furnishings and Politburo portraits.

The hotel, which opened in Berlin in May, offers guests a choice of rooms in the style of the old eastern bloc.

The “Stasi Suite” is more expensive than the budget “Pioneer Camp”.

The hotel is a former East German Plattenbauwohnung - the kind of mass-produced concrete apartment building that came to symbolise life in the communist bloc.  In the reception four clocks are another throwback to the “socialist” camp, showing the time in Moscow, Berlin, Havana and Beijing. Filed Under (romantic, to bring, picnic, lifestyle, summer) by Kiss0912, Thunder E on 19-06-2007

Summer is officially guys, and for all the guys who wanna impress the ladies and the girls who want to be sweet to the boys, a picnic is always fun and intimate. Here are some simple tips to make it all perfect!

picnic

  • When packing a picnic, keep non-perishable foods (potato chips, fruit, etc.) separate from perishable ones. This way you’ll save cooler space & ice for items that need it. Remember, the more stuff you pack in the cooler, the less cold it will be. An ideal ratio is 75% food and 25% ice, although I think 50/50 is even better!
  • Pack your cooler in reverse order. Put your dessert in first, the main course second and the appetizers third. This way you won’t have to dig around in your cooler to find the items you need. This will save you time, effort and will help keep the cooler cold longer.

Our bodies are quick to warn us if something is wrong - two top doctors share their head-to-toe guide to warning signs.

Is your body telling you something?

Our body is constantly talking to us - yet many of us ignore its messages and suffer unnecessary illness as a result. Small symptoms like bloodshot eyes, dry skin, thinning hair or even weak, brittle nails can be early warnings that our system is under stress or we’re experiencing a deficiency that could eventually damage our general health and wellbeing.

Dr Wendy Denning and nutritionist Vicki Edgson, authors of The Diet Doctors Inside And Out, both believe that learning to read the body’s signs paves the way not just to better health but to a better life.

    Top 10 health myths

“In general, people are ignoring the early warning signs that their body sends out often because they don’t understand what they mean,” Denning says. “Basically our body sends out subtle early signs when things are not quite right. If nothing is done these increase to stronger signals and if you neglect those you may be hit by a big warning such as a major symptom or illness that literally cannot be ignored.”

Heeding those minor symptoms, making simple lifestyle changes or seeking medical advice early could mean avoiding more serious health troubles such as thyroid or even heart problems, she adds. “Many minor problems can be cleared up in a couple of months by making even small improvements in diet, drinking more water or finding ways to ease stress. It begins in the playground. A joke here, a taunt there; harmless words really. But when does a childhood jibe cross the line from being just that to an underlying and potentially damaging belief?

Prejudice is top of the agenda right now because of the huge row that flared up over Big Brother contestant Emily’s use of a racist term. This was swiftly and quite rightly acted upon, highlighting that Britain as a nation will not tolerate this kind of derogatory racism. But what about the other, less serious but more covert, forms of discrimination? Read the rest of this entry »

Filed Under (stroller, skateboard, mom, lifestyle, gadgets) by Kiss0912, Thunder E on 08-06-2007

So while the WHOLE world is awaiting news on Paris Hilton’s final verdict. I found something fun.. a cool new gadget for the momsies!!!

    Story courtesy of Gizmodo

    mom

For mothers who simply aren’t going fast enough when carting around their pint-sized overlords, a German company offers the Mama Board. Apparently, it latches to the rear axle of any stroller, after which it’s nothing but fast-flying fun after a grocery run or a trip to the park.

A short WMV clip on www.mamaboard.de details the assembly and shows footage of mothers rolling around. We have to ask: Are these things sidewalk-legal? Or will mothers have to hit the streets and keep up with car traffic? The site doesn’t mention any kind of failsafe if the board detaches from the stroller, although the mom in the photo doesn’t seem too worried. That kid, on the other hand, doesn’t seem so sure.

All of you must be acquainted with at least one woman who is a guy magnet. She’s the one who always seems to have a boyfriend (or two) and usually attracts the most interest when your group of female friends is out together. OK, she’s attractive and fun, but the same can be said about all of you.

So, what does she have that the rest of you don’t? Hint: Think effective body language, positive nonverbal and verbal communication, healthy self-esteem, and an ability and willingness to assertively use these to make the right connection.

     Secrets of the successful dater

As a dating coach who has worked with many clients of both sexes, I have been on the front lines with singles seeking many different kinds of dating experiences. I have encountered bad boys, nice guys, strong women, shy women, the marriage-minded, the commitment-phobes, those who have little or no dating experience, and those with active and satisfying dating histories.

What I have learned is that ultimate success comes to those who are honest and open about what they are looking for, who are willing to take initiative, and who actively participate in the “chase.” That’s right, ladies — this means you, too.

yes no need to have ashes legs over the summer.

The answer lies in that bottle of safflower oil sitting on the shelf. This polyunsaturated oil, beloved by cardiologists for being good for your heart, is just as good for your skin, but from the outside in. Read the rest of this entry »
