Here is another clip of my next phone, lucnh next month in the UK on Vodaphone, the Iphone does not touch this bad boy. All I am asking Samsung is the addition of wifi to this bad-boy . Hsdpa is cool but since T-mobile in the states isn’t rocking 3.G yet I would like to have some wifi connectivity on this. Enjoy……

It seems the iphone has not been spared from defects and iphone lousy customer service…

That’s odd, Apple has a 14 day refund policy on the iPhone. As in, you can’t return it for a full refund after 14 days. Darin writes:

So I made the 15 mile drive to the AT&T store and as soon as I walked in I was told that they will have nothing to do with the iPhone the moment you leave the store. So I drove 15 miles back home and called the nearest Apple store. They told me that they will handle any issues after the first 14 days, but AT&T is responsible for any issues within the first 14 days.I then called AT&T and talked to a very friendly and helpful rep who told me that she believed that Apple would have to replace the phone but would verify, I spent several minutes on hold before she returned and after verifying the policy did confirm that AT&T policy states that Apple is responsible for all phone issues.

I explained what the Apple store told me and she volunteered to call them, I spent about 10 minutes on hold and she came back on and let me know that she had talked to the Apple store manager who stated that Apple policy states that AT&T is responsible for the first 14 days but that she would work with me if I went to the store.

A very good article from nytimes, shows how backward the us is with cellphone tech. Enjoy…..

That segment of the American market represents about a quarter of America’s 250 million cellphone subscribers, according to Strategy Analytics, a market research firm based in Newton, Mass. In contrast with cellphone users in Asia, more than half of American subscribers paid $50 or less for their cellphones.

Apple, whose biggest challenge may be persuading Americans to spend $500 or $600 for an iPhone, has said it wants to have the devices in the hands of 1 percent of the world’s cellphone users, or about 10 million people, by the end of next year. Read the rest of this entry »

Seriously this is not looking good, I now don’t see the need for to purchase the iphone. But thats just me. Engadget is reporting this as listed facts from various reviews.

  • Oh, and no MMS. And sorry, no voice dialing, either.
  • Contact groups can’t be emailed as contact lists.
  • Apple sez between 300-400 charges the iPhone will lose battery capacity — you’ll send it in and get the cell replaced for a fee. Meh. We knew this would be the case, but still, meh.
  • Apple can (and supposedly will) be rolling out periodic updates — no surprise there.
  • Pogue again confirms document file reading — but not editing — for PDF, Word, and Excel (only).
  • Adobe Flash support is officially out. It’s just not in the browser. Neither is there any other kind of embedded video support. Sorry everybody, that’s that.
  • It will take snaps, but won’t record video. How can Apple love YouTube as much as it does and not realize cellphone-shot movies make up a sizeable chunk of the crazy crap you find on there?
  • Sorry, music can’t be used as a ringtone — even if it’s just a raw MP3. No additional ringtones will be sold at launch.
  • Voice quality is said to be good — not great.

Wired article

It makes perfect sense for Apple to release its Safari web browser for Windows, but the question is: What right-thinking Windows user would want it?

Steve Jobs’ unexpected announcement Monday that the public beta of Safari 3 runs on Windows left the crowd at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco murmuring its approval.

But the initiative seems to rely on a domino theory fueled by infatuation. Apple is hoping there are Windows users so in love with their iPods and iTunes that they will also download Safari. Then they’ll fall in love with that, and the next thing you know they’ll be down at the Apple Store fishing for their credit cards.

There’s only one problem with that scenario — Safari sucks. A lot of Mac users won’t run the browser (I’m one of them), so why would anyone run it on Windows? Read the rest of this entry »
