The story of Brother Conflict centers around Ema Hinata, an ordinary teenaged girl who up until recently has lived as a single child raised by her Father. The BIG change comes when her father marries a lady with children of her own.
Ema, also called “Chii” by her pet squirrel and self-proclaimed guardian “Juli”, decides that in order to give the newlyweds the privacy they deserve she will move in with her new siblings, 13 Brothers.
This starts Ema on a roller coaster ride of romance and self-discovery, but she’s not the only one feeling the pinch of this new adjustment.
Enter the Asahina brothers- Masaomi, Ukyo, Kaname, Hikaru, Tsubake, Azusa, Natsume, Louis, Subaru, Lori, Yusuke, Fuuto and Wataru, who have to deal with the addition of a new sister, a step-sister, AN ATTRACTIVE, NON-BLOOD RELATED SISTER… See where I’m going with this? 😉
Chii is introduced not only into their unsupervised home but most importantly into their lives. SPARKS FLY! Romance, Jealousy and sibling rivalry abound. However, the presence of a girl in the home also has its perks…
Brother’s Conflict, in summary is basically reverse harem. In other words, it’s a story focused on a female surrounded by a bunch of guys – in this case brothers, basically after her attention. One can ultimately classify this show as a 100% chick flick. This 12 episode series to me was absolutely dreamy and fun to watch. However, if you are looking for a story with a gripping plot then perhaps this isn’t quite your series.
My review in a nut shell…
Rating: 6/10
Would I watch it over again? For me it’s a feel good kind of series and so Yes, I would watch it again for the fun of it.
Would I own a copy? Sure, but only an English subbed copy (English voice-overs never quite fit their characters).
Genre: Comedy, Harem, Romance, Shoujo
