BlackBerry Porsche Design P9982 Hands-on
The BlackBerry Porsche design P9982 is one of those devices you rarely get to see in public. That’s because its a limited edition BlackBerry specially designed by Porsche and the price for this is to match. The BlackBerry Porsche Design P9982 is a well crafted piece of solid machinery, designed and built from a satin finished frame forged from the finest stainless steel. This thing has gold a smooth solid feel to it, that is as luxurious as the well fashion and stitched crocodile leather that is the back cover for the device. No faux leather here folks, this is a premium device and it feels that way.
Now the P9982 comes with a few accessories in the box, first of a custom card for you unique purchase, plus and extra crocodile back cover in red( which I like). You also have every type of world plug for an outlet on the planet. A soft case cover, some earbuds and warranty information. I was a little bumped out, that there were on custom earbuds or extra material from Porsche. this would have added to the value of the purchase. In terms of internal hardware, the device bares the same guts as the Z10 with a 4.2-inch 720p display, an 8MP camera that records at 1080p a dual-core 1.5Ghz processor and 64GB of storage, which is also expandable by microSD up to 64GB.
Now I know the Porsche design is not for everyone just on price alone. With some sites tagging to device at $2,500 but I will have to give it to them with he design build and quality. What I hope is that we see more of this design langue and feel on more BlackBerry devices moving forward.
