Battle Vid: Nokia Drive vs. HTC Locations – Best Windows Phone GPS

20120411_151708[ad#ad-1]In this Battle Vid, we put the two top GPS Nav systems for Windows phone to the test. Nokia Drive on Nokia Lumia devices versus HTC Locations on HTC Windows Phone. Let the Battle begin.

Nokia Drive:

Nokia Drive is Nokia’s turn-by-turn GPS navigation answer on Windows Phone. It is only available to owners of Nokia Windows Phone devices, such as the Nokia Lumia 900, Lumia 800, and the Lumia 710. Simply put, you can only get Nokia Drive on a Nokia Windows phone device . Nokia Drive is simple and easy to use.  When you open up the application, it searches for a GPS signal and connects to your location. The main screen shows you drive speed, distance, and a menu option button which reveals your navigation options.  There you can switch from 2D to 3D maps, set destination, leave feedback , learn more on Nokia Drive, and get deeper in the settings. With the settings, you can change Maps from night and day colors, show landmarks, mange your own Maps, choose navigation voice, change unit distance, clear history, and turn on or off location (GPS).

HTC Locations:

HTC Locations allows you to download map data for offline use from a large number of countries just like Nokia Drive does. The GPS navigation speaks to you with voice prompts that tell you where to go, even if you don’t have an internet connection. The HTC Locations does tell you what exact lane you should be one when driving your route. HTC Locations also has a wider breadth of features that many will find useful, while Nokia Drive is very basic, yet simple.

Check out the video below to see how both navigation systems perform, and our final thoughts on the battle.
