$99 Xbox 360 + Kinect bundle launching next week with two-year subscription???

Xbox-360-kinect-600r[ad#ad-1]Microsoft is reportedly planning to launch a subsidized Xbox 360 and Kinect bundle with a monthly subscription option, according to The Verge. The Redmond Software giant will offer the 4GB gaming console alongside with the Kinect for $99 with a two-year commitment, and an early termination fee.  The subscription fee will $15 a month, which includes access to Xbox Live Gold, a two-year warranty, and possibly additional streaming content as well. Microsoft will apparently position the package to compete against the Apple TV, Roku streaming box, and PlayStation 3. The Verge reports that we could see an announcement as early as next week.

I believe Microsoft has had this plan in the works for a while and will launch such a service, but I am sure it’s not coming next week. With E3 around the corner, such a major move by the company will be announced at the show. Plus, I am sure we will hear more about the company’s Woodstock music service. So ’til June 5th, we wait.
