I love the way these TVs are featured on display at the LG
booth this year.  The 4mm thickness
really is impressive even though I wasn’t there.  I will have to trust the people who were
there for the picture quality, but the statistics are impressive to say the
least.  I stayed behind this year with my
employer, DISH Network, to support the new multi-room HD DVR called “The
Hopper.”  It was presented at CES and 500
reporters showed up when CEO Joe Clayton presented it with a baby Kangaroo on
stage.  Having the same name as the
kangaroo for the small “client box,” Joey, is DISH’s way of saying it is much
smaller than the Hopper and it can fit easily behind any wall mounted TV.  I am looking forward to the TV apps and
remote finder since my kids always misplace it.
Having 250 hours of HD recording time is nice too so we don’t have as
many conflicts with which shows to save when we run out of room.
