Interesting stuff via BBc

South African MP George Lekgetho has called for prostitution to be legalised for the duration of the football World Cup to be held in the country in 2010. “It is one of the things that would make it a success,” the ruling African National Congress parliamentarian said.

It would help cut the incidences of rape and would bring in taxes to fight poverty, he told his colleagues.

The opposition Democratic Alliance criticised the idea but a group representing sex workers welcomed it.

God will the violence end…. via BBc

An opposition MP has been killed in Kenya, as violence continues over last month’s disputed election.

The man was shot dead in the western town of Eldoret, said a spokesman for his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

He is the second ODM MP to be killed this week. The shooting of Mugabe Were in Nairobi sparked violent clashes in slums seen as opposition strongholds.

More than 850 people have been killed and 250,000 have fled their homes since the disputed presidential poll.

Following the ambulance were none other than Lynne Spears and Adnan Ghalib - in the same car.

Britney is going to be put under a 5150 psychiatric hold at the hospital for 72 hours. Hopefully her treatment will be extended. Read the rest of this entry »
