U.S. rock star Prince is to give away his new album for free with a U.K. tabloid newspaper, weeks before its official launch, in a move that has caused dismay among music retailers.
Prince’s new 10-track CD Planet Earth will be included with this weekend’s Mail on Sunday, the newspaper’s managing director, Stephen Miron, told Reuters on Friday.
The album is not scheduled to go on sale until July 24.
“No one has done this before. We have always given away CDs and DVDs, but this is just setting a new level,” Miron said.
Paul Quirk, co-chairman of the Entertainment Retailers Association, said Prince’s decision “beggars belief”.
“The Artist formerly known as Prince should know that with behaviour like this he will soon be the Artist Formerly Available in Record Stores,” he said, referring to a period in the 1990s when the funk star, born Prince Rogers Nelson, famously stopped using his name. Read the rest of this entry »
Michael Jackson went on the counterattack yesterday after a series of stories (not ours) about him were called “untrue, defamatory and malicious,” and asked his spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain to let people know that Jackson:
Is not bedridden.
Is not on any type of medication, including painkillers.
Has not “left” Las Vegas nor is he being “evicted” from his residence in Las Vegas. He decided not to exercise the option to purchase the house. Period.
Does not believe that his brother Randy Jackson has stolen monies from him.
Does not think any family members would ever steal from him.
Has never used nor instructed his security to use force toward any reporter.
Is neither losing nor selling his share of the ATV/Sony partnership (which includes the Beatles catalogue). Read the rest of this entry »
Kristy Swanson says the past 18 months have been, in a word, “stressful.”
No kidding: First there was her scandalous romance with her Skating with Celebrities partner, Lloyd Eisler, which began when his then-wife, Marcia O’Brien, was eight months pregnant.
Then, four months after Swanson and Eisler welcomed a son, Magnus, Swanson was arrested for allegedly assaulting O’Brien during a visit with Eisler to his sons Ethan, 3, and Seth, 18 months. (Swanson filed a counter-assault claim.)
In the new issue of PEOPLE, Swanson, 37, shares her side of the story, and opens up about the other source of stress in her life: her weight.
Some highlights:
On her romance with Eisler: “I’m not a homewrecker,” Swanson says. “Lloyd and Marcia were separated before I ever met him; I did not break up the marriage.” Adds Eisler, 44: “After the show was over it hit me, ‘Wow, that person had a drastic effect on me!’ Changes had to be made – and I chose to make them.”
On her arrest: “She attacked me, and I am confident that after the investigation is complete, the truth will come out,” says Swanson. Police have yet to charge O’Brien, who tells PEOPLE, “Her allegations that I attacked her are completely false.”
On her weight gain: At the beginning of her relationship with Eisler, “I stopped skating and we were eating all of these wonderful antipasti with cheese and crackers,” says Swanson, who’s now down to 155 lbs. She wants to lose 30 more, so she’s signed a six-month, six-figure ad-campaign deal with Medifast. “I know the longer I wait,” she says, “the harder it will be.”

Yes, guys need compliments too you know, here are a few
“Your arms are definitely looking bigger.”
Men can be just as paranoid about the way their bodies look as women can be. In fact, nearly 90 percent of men in a national Men, Love & Sex survey say there’s at least one body part they’d like to change (42 percent saying they want a new gut). While men don’t necessarily want women to lie if they’re out of shape, it never hurts to notice he’s looking good — or at least trying to look better.
“Impressive.”
Guys love feats. They love accomplishments. They love being acknowledged for their strength, power, and, simply, their masculinity. So a well-timed observation like this one — whether it comes after he carries a TV to the family room or figures out a way to fix the pipes without having to call the plumber — feeds into his need to feel like the family protector. foxnews is reporting this strange story around the Chris Benoit tragedy…….
An anonymous user operating a computer traced to Stamford, Conn. — home to World Wrestling Entertainment — posted an entry to pro wrestler Chris Benoit’s biography on Wikipedia.org announcing the death of his wife Nancy at least 13 hours before police in suburban Atlanta said they found her body along with her husband’s and that of their 7-year-old son, FOXNews.com has learned.
Employees at Wikipedia.org said the posting went live on their site on Monday at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Police, however, said they found the bodies Monday at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
The posting reads: “Chris Benoit was replaced by [[Johnny Nitro]] for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.” According to a Wikipedia.org report published after FOXNews.com made inquiries, the edit was reversed just under one hour later with the comment:
“Need a reliable source. Saying that his wife died is a pretty big statement, you need to back it up with something.”
The posting apparently was made in reference to Benoit’s scheduled appearance on Sunday night at an Extreme Championship Wrestling event in Texas.

Lindsay Lohan was allegedly drunk and had cocaine in her system during an early morning smash-up in Beverly Hills on Memorial Day weekend.
According to multiple law enforcement sources, toxicology reports conclude that Lohan, 20, had “nearly twice the legal limit” of alcohol and traces of blow in her bloodstream when she crashed her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 convertible into a curb on Sunset Blvd. around 5:30 AM on May 26. In California, drivers with a .08 or higher are legally drunk.
Police tell TMZ Lohan and two other adults were in the car at the time of the accident. After the crash, she was taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries, then placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI. Cops later said they found a “usable amount” of cocaine in the car.
We’re told that the Beverly Hills Police Dept. could present the case to the Los Angeles D.A. in the next few days.
Lohan’s lawyer, Blair Berk, told TMZ, “It’s highly inappropriate for me to discuss a pending case.” Berk added, “It is extremely unprofessional for law enforcement to do it.”
Lingerie a fashion term for the female undergarment, which was derived from the French word “Lin” (which referred to undergarments for both sex). In today’s world and in the English Language lingerie is used only for female undergarments, which are designed to give an erotic and arousing appeal. Having this in mind consider where we began with female undergarments back in the medieval times were women wore close fitting undergarments called “chemise” (it is a simple garment worn next to the skin to protect clothing from sweat and body oils).
Consider the crude nature and the cumbersome style that such undergarments provided. Considering the fact that most undergarments were large and bulky and lack the comfort or appeal we see today. By the 20th century the idea of lingerie started to take place. Considering at each stage in history as undergarments evolved and changed shape, there have always been outcries of the risqué nature these new garments took shape into.Read the rest of this entry »
