The ratings picture is getting worse for CBS’ “Evening News With Katie Couric.” Last week, the network’s flagship newscast drew its smallest audience since 1987, according to Nielsen Media Research. ABC’s “World News With Charles Gibson,” on the other hand, recorded its fifth straight week as the most-watched evening newscast on the air. The weekly win comes just as Gibson is marking his first year as the sole anchor of ABC’s news. Emile Hirsch was 6 years old when he saw his first episode of the cartoon Speed Racer and, more important, caught a glimpse of the Mach 5. “It was one of the coolest things I’d ever seen,” Hirsch says by phone from Germany, where filming will begin next week on the movie adaptation. “That’s when I started thinking it would be great to be on TV. And have one of those.” Sixteen years later, he finally got behind the wheel of the speedster, which gets its first look here and will be at the heart of the film, due May 9, 2008. “My first thought was, ‘Yeah, they got the car right,’ ” he says. “That’s one of the best things about the show, so it was always going to be one of the most important parts of the movie.” That and the return of Andy and Larry Wachowski, the brothers who are making their first directorial effort since The Matrix trilogy. Police said a man in the drive-through argued with an employee because he wanted more packets of the condiment. Screw the console wars, Fortune says they are over! The entire article has talk from Ubisoft, EA, Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, and even Miyamoto himself. There’s a bit of info concerning how much money Nintendo makes on each console sold, how expensive it is to make a Wiimote, and more. Nicole Richie went onto Ryan Seacrest’s radio show and defended her private email that is causing so much controversy. She claims it was a joke and doesn’t understand why everyone is getting so upset about it. I read that email twice and didn’t realize it rhymed until she said it! I understand where she is coming from. She was trying to be funny and somehow it made the news. On the other hand, I can see where people are taking offense. But in the end, it really wasn’t meant for our eyes anyway. “I mean, it rhymes. Are you really going to take an e-mail that rhymes that seriously? And it’s a private e-mail to my friends. I was joking and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.” Not that any of you care…. but here is the latest on Lindsay lohan i managed to scoop from I’m not obsessed.
Since Lindsay Lohan was not of legal drinking age the day she got in her car accident and arrested for suspicion of DUI, California officials are now investigating underage drinking in Hollywood. They are starting with Les Deux, the restaurant that Lindsay was spotted exiting at 3:30 in the morning.
